MIRI: This city is making an attempt to enter the Malaysia Book of Records (Mybor) for the 14th time with the largest number of people taking part in the Reggaeton Workout Warm Up this Sunday at Marina ParkCity, which is expected to attract participation of some 10,000 people.
In view of this, mayor Lawrence Lai is calling on interested members of the public to view a video on reggaeton workout warm up posted on Miri City Councils Facebook page Majlis Bandaraya Miri to learn its simple steps as preparation for the event.
Speaking at a press conference yesterday, he said the 20-minute synchronised warm-up session would be held prior to the flag-off of Miri City Day Run 2015.
He hoped the public would give their support and participate in the event to make their wish come true, saying up to yesterday they had registered over 9,000 participants.
We hope netizens will support and help to spread the news by clicking Like and Share for the reggaeton workout warm up choreography video within these few days prior to the actual event this Sunday at 6am, he said.
The workout session is supported by eight dance studios and fitness centres – The One Gym Centre, Victor Aspirations, Ace Fitness Miri, Fifth5 Champion Fitness Centre, Misa Luvi Dance & Fitness Studio, Zumba Fitness Erikings, E-zy Health Fitness and Dance Fusion.
Some 50 fitness instructors will lead the crowd for the choreography step of reggaeton workout warm up session on the day, he added.
The double-event is part of the highlights for Miri City 10th anniversary celebration.
Chief Ministers wife Datin Patinggi Datuk Jamilah Anu is expected to join the crowd in making history for Miri.
Meanwhile, the closing date for the 10km Miri City Day Run 2015 is this Friday.
Currently, we have registered a total of 1,171 runners for the event and are expecting another 800 more to meet the 2,000 target with RM50 registration fee inclusive of T-Shirt and a finisher medal, Lai said.
On the other hand, the 5km fun run category is open to all for free.
