Brazilian GP: Massa the victor, Alonso the champ

Felipe Massa won his second grand and Fernando Alonso secured his second World Championship as Michael Schumacher bowed out of F1 in heroic style.
The slim possibility of Schumi snatching an eighth title effectively ended with his Ferrari suffered a puncture in the early stages of the race as he passed Alonso’s Renault team-mate Giancarlo Fisichella. While the German, in his customary never-say-die fashion, battled back into the points, his sterling efforts were not sufficient to deny Alonso retaining his Drivers’ Championship.
In front of a partisan Sao Paulo crowd, Massa produced a flawless performance to become the first Brazilain to win his home grand prix since 1993.
Alonso, after a steady drive, finished second, while Honda’s Jenson Button took third.
