MIRI: A boy managed to escape from a burning house at Jalan Bulan Pujut 7 here yesterday.
According to a neighbour, she saw the 15-year-old coming out from a window on the upper level of the double-storey unit in the 1pm incident.
“I saw the smoke coming out of the house – I believe that it was from the living room. Then I saw him (boy). He was about to jump when my husband and I shouted at him.
“We later brought a ladder for the boy to climb down to safety,” she said, adding that the boy was alone in the house at the time.
Police and firefighters arrived shortly after receiving a distress call on the incident. They managed to put out the fire, with the help of residents.
