Thats nice but I like to know what is happening day by day…a non bias account from behind the front lines

riverbend - an iraqi girl in her early 20’s then, from a mixed sunni-shia middle-class family who lived in baghdad before, during and after the u.s. invasion.
she’s smart, funny, articulate, wrote in perfect english.
unlike now, when most people realise the iraqi war was just a big lie. in the few years before, during and right after the invasion, those who opposed the war were called looneys, stupidheads, saddam lovers, hippies, etc.
at that time, riverbend provided an insight from within the heart of iraq that was not available in the mainstream media and pretty unique even among the online blogs - including those from other iraqis, NGO volunteers and GI joes in iraq. of course there has always been those who think riverbend is not real.
as the situation in baghdad got worse, many people all over the world became increasingly worried for her safety - being a liberal sunni female blogger is probably not one of the safest occupation in baghdad at the moment.
her writings are so popular that they were published in two books - http://www.amazon.com/Baghdad-Burning-G … 755&sr=8-1

that’s my take. you can read other comments on amazon on what others think. or you might want to read the books yourself…
there is also an wiki entry on her http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Riverbend_(blogger
