BRUNEI national cyclist Azmi Abd Hazid continued his impressive form this year after capturing the King of Mountain award in the Miri International Century Ride 2017 last weekend.
Azmi emerged winner in the Men’s Elite Open challenge and scooped the top award at the Tanjung Lobang Hill climb along the 120km road route.
His compatriot Abdul Hadrie Morsidi settled for third place in the Men’s Elite Open with South Africa’s Juka Gerstner sandwiched between the pair.
The Bro Cycling Project rider has earlier won the Walk Run Cycle competition in the capital only two weeks ago.
Brunei’s Mohd Halid Sata was also victorious after taking down the Men’s Veteran title which was followed by Michael Scheck of Germany and Riang Moksin of Miri.
Brunei also enjoyed podium finishes in the Men’s Master category after Teo Kock Hwee and Jaap Erik Can Krimpen were placed second and third, respectively.
The Bruneian pair’s feat was emulated by Muhammad Al Wale Aini and Imanizayidi Yunaidi in the Mountainbike category.
The guest-of-honour at the event was the Assistant Minister of Tourism Datuk Lee Kim Shin, who later presented the prizes.
Tthe competition attracted 400 cyclists from various representatives.
