Friends was a popular long-running American sitcom about a group of six friends living in the Manhattan borough of New York City. It was created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman and was originally broadcast from 1994 to 2004. The series focused on the lives of a group of six twenty-somethings (eventually thirty-somethings), consisting of three men and three women residing in Greenwich Village.

Friends (originally Friends Like Us) was produced by Bright/Kauffman/Crane Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television for NBC in the U.S., and was first broadcast on that network. It was followed by daily syndication, cable network TBS, among many other broadcast networks in numerous countries throughout the world. In the US, the first episode was aired on NBC on September 22, 1994, and the last one on May 6, 2004,[1] which was the highest-rated series finale at the time.

Friends was one of the most popular and longest-running sitcoms in television history, gaining tens of millions of fans all over the globe. The show won many awards during its run, including an Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series, and six consecutive People’s Choice Awards for Favorite Television Comedy Series.

Lived with Joey during the majority of the first five seasons (except for a brief period in which Joey moved out during the second season).
During the sixth season, moved into Monica’s apartment to live with her.
It is often stated incorrectly that Rachel has never lived with Chandler. In fact, in the episode in which Rachel and Phoebe’s apartment burned down, she briefly moves back into Monica’s apartment (in which Chandler is also a resident) before moving in with Joey the next day (as punishment) after it is discovered that it was her hair straightener that caused the fire. Phoebe then moves into Monica’s apartment with Chandler and Monica. (This is all shown in The One Where Ross Dates a Student.)

Ross Geller
Lived with Monica during their childhood.
Lived with Chandler in college.
Lived with Joey (and Chandler again) briefly after he divorced Emily before moving into Ugly Naked Guy’s apartment.
Lived with Rachel while she was pregnant with their child, Emma.
Lived with Phoebe after Chandler and Monica got engaged (during the seventh season), so that she could give them some space.

Lived with Chandler during the majority of the first five seasons (except for a brief period in which Joey moved out during the second season).
Ross moved into Chandler and Joey’s apartment briefly after Ross’ second divorce.
During the sixth season, after Rachel and Phoebe’s apartment burned down, Phoebe briefly moved into his apartment before it was discovered that the fire was caused by Rachel’s hair straightener. After this, Rachel moved into Joey’s apartment as punishment, while Phoebe moved in with Chandler and Monica.
Joey has never lived with Monica.

Monica Geller
Lived with Ross during their childhood.
Lived with Phoebe before the show started (shown in The One With the Flashback). She also lived briefly with Phoebe after Phoebe and Rachel’s apartment burned down during the sixth season.
