MIRI: A total of 24 finalists will compete for the title of Miss Grand Malaysia 2019 during the grand finale on Sunday (April 28) at Meritz Hotel Miri.
They were officially presented at Pustaka Negeri Sarawak Miri on Monday.
The finalists are Mel Dequanne Abar (20, Kota Kinabalu); Devhia Barathi Jayaraman (23, Melaka); Julie Minele Senele (20, Kuching); Valerie Sim (21, Kota Kinabalu); Chieng Dee Ling (18, Miri); Anna Jhia-Jhia Tan (25, Petaling Jaya); Zoey Marie Anderson (24, Miri); Lysandra Gabriel Storie (21, Sibu); Simona Boonratana (24, Kuala Lumpur); Marilyn Lenggie (22, Miri); Malle Christian Anderson Barlus (21, Kota Kinabalu); Gloria Kelbin (23, Kuching); Vellma Eve Victorianus Golingai (24, Penampang); Chermaine Kang Yi Ting (27, Petaling Jaya); Emily Elizabeth Beard (21, Miri); Adriana Liun David (23, Sibu); Lydia Yeo Sze Ern (23, Kuala Lumpur); Kishweni Jaganathan (19, Petaling Jaya); Gloria Jane Fernandez (23, Kuala Lumpur); Haaraneei Muthu Kumar (22, Shah Alam); Michelle Voo (18, Kota Kinabalu); Lishalinny Kanaran (22, Petaling Jaya); and Saroopdeep Kaur (21, Petaling Jaya).
The winner will represent Malaysia at the Miss Grand International pageant in Venezuela in October.
Prior to the finale, the finalists will visit attractions here including Niah National Park, Tusan Beach, Piasau Nature Reserve, Crocodile Farm Miri, and Miri Times Square.
There will be a meet and greet with Nur Sajat at Bintang Megamall on
Saturday (April 27) at 10am, where the public can win free tickets to the finale.
Reigning Miss Grand International 2018 Clara Sosa from Paraguay and Miss Grand Malaysia 2018 Debra Jeanne Poh will also hold a cooking demonstration on local dishes such as kolo mee and Sarawak laksa, which will go ‘live’ on the Miss Grand International Facebook page.
The preliminary competition will be held on Friday (April 26) at Coco Cabana here.
