[justify]Bakam Challenge is an annual off-road biathlon that takes place in Miri in May every year since 2000. It is now a recurring International competition in the Miri City tourism calendar coinciding with the International Mayfest celebration. Ever since its inception in year 2000, more and more people has been drawn to Bakam Challenge to prove themselves against the best (and worst) nature can throw at them. Some do it for the glory and bragging rights, but many do it for the fun and camaraderie.
This year is the 10th anniversary of the Bakam Challenge and it will be held on Saturday 16 May 2009 at Kampung Bakam, Miri. The route will consist of about 15-20km of mountain biking, and 10km of hashing (jungle running/trekking).
