Whew !!!!! Another ipod jailbreaked. The unit got hanged and I hav to put under recovery and redo it. Spend whole day for free !!!!

Upgrade the iphone in itunes to 2.2, jailbreak and install cracked apps and games.

Settings - not a problem, just redo.
Contacts - Sync with outlook before upgrade
Apple Appstore Apps - Sync with itunes before upgrade
Cydia Apps - I think there's a app to backup the apps, not too sure but I'd rather do a fresh reinstall. It's similar to formating your PC and resintalling windows and programs.

Mine is iPhone 2G 8GB. First bought came with version 1.1.4 then updated to 2.0 then 2.1 and now 2.2
Apps & games >> to many to list, about 87 total. mostly from itune app store, some from Cydia.
Got 3 casing - silicon, plastic & leather. Griffin sound system cum charger dock.
Next on my wish list: RGB cable, iPhone 3G and the B&W sound system !

Favorite Apps:
Translator: Able to translate many many different languages - requires data connection since it uses Google's translator engine
Facebook: Self-explanatory yah?
Cycorder: Adding the most wanted functionality for iPhones....video recording! Encoding is fast and great pic and sound quality.
Midomi or Shazam: Helps you identify music you hear (with Midomi you can even hum the song), the apps records the clip and then goes online to search it's database. It's been almost 100% accurate with everything I've tried so far. It's great when you hear a song in a restaurant, shopping center, on the radio and you want to know the name of the song and who sang it.
MobileFotos: For me to see what's happening on Flickr
Night Camera: Great for taking pictures at night. Allows for long exposure. Cool stuff.
MakeItMine: Allows you to change your carrier name...so intead of Celcom you can change to display Miri
IntelliScreen: Display either weather, calendar events, mail, sms, etc, etc on your lock screen. For example, you won't have to access Calendar directly when you want to see what's on your itinerary for the day, week, month. etc.
MxTube: Download YouTube vids
WikiAmo: Access to Wikipedia. When you just want to know stuff.
PanoLab: Assist with taking panoramic shots. very cool app.
vlingo: voice recognition. So that you don't have to type everything. Will even launch apps by voice. Recognition of words is about 80-90% accurate.
ScreenSplitr: Allows you to output your iPhone screen to a TV screen... video cable needed of course.
