hummm....i dont know how to judge whether its a good bokeh or not.....but the pictures seems to be a bit blur, maybe because due to the low lights condition....but the bokeh idea is to out of focus...ha,i dont know.....

just count the number of edges on the oof highlights... the more blades, the rounder and smoother the highlight, and generally produce better bokeh...

ah yes, the ef 50mm f/2.5 macro lens is a 6-blades lens

it's not about 'bokeh enough' or not. bokeh is there, it's just that it's not an attractive subject

Check this out.... "Bokeh King" lens.... the one and only Minolta/Sony 135mm f2.8 STF: http://the135stf.net/

Typical lens render out of focus area by smearing the blurry background/foreground objects. The STF does not blur and smear, it just deeply blur them out, without the need of having very thin depth of field.

example:

yes, the 135stf has super smooth bokehs, but
no, it doesn't just "blur them out", it will still have shallow dof at f/2.8, but it also uses a filter to smooth out the bokehs... according to wiki, the filter actually result in light loss, so at f/2.8 the effective exposure if actual equivalent to f/4.5... that's why it's name is like Minolta 135/2.8 [T4.5] STF

good review i found:

yup.... the downside to the STF design is light loss. this is due to apodization filter. it's also a MANUAL FOCUS only lens, so it's a bit tedious for those who're not used to manual focusing.

I'd say this lens will shine outdoors.
