Miri: The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of SK St Joseph Miri organised Aerobicton 2017 to raise funds for the school’s facilities as well as its activities for this year.

Its chairman Goh Ser Seng said the school was looking to raise RM25,000 for this year.

“We are still short of RM15,000 from our target,” he said

“The funds will be used to improve our school’s facilities such as a proper roof for the walkway leading into the compound.

A few teachers led the one-hour long aerobics session and joined by pupils and parents with full enthusiasm.

Goh said the school’s PTA had decided to have a food fair before year-end.

“It will be held after the UPSR examinations so that teachers and parents will have more time to prepare for it.

“We hope to have more public support for our upcoming events,” he said.

Goh said the PTA worked hard to ensure that its fundraising events were creative and engaging without overloading the teaching staff.

The event was officiated by Eric Chin, who represented Sarawak Assistant Tourism Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin.

SK St Joseph currently caters to 750 students. Primary One and Two classes are conducted in the afternoon due to shortage of classrooms.
