Following checks, it was found that a similar story and sketches of the two women originated from a foreign country,” he said in a statement here today.

Dev said police had arrested two people in connection with the Facebook posting, with the first arrest at 11.30am yesterday and the second at 2am today.

“The two individuals, one a security guard and the other a driver, both aged 25, admitted that they copied the posting from another Facebook account,” he said.

He said the two Facebook account holders were being investigated for offences under Section 500 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998. — Bernama
